We have crafted some beautiful cinemas in private properties that the public never gets to appreciate. At Grand Designs Live we bring the enchantment of ‘home cinema’ to the Grand House to showcase how we can transform shared experiences at home.
THE HEART OF THE GRAND HOUSE
At the heart of the Grand House show home, our cinema room collaboration with Cinema Luxe entranced visitors with mesmerising visuals, immersive audio, inviting plush furnishings and enviable interior design. We reviewed guests’ grand designs of all sizes and presented luxury technology enhancements for effortless control, home experiences, improved welfare and sustainable living.
KEVIN’S CINEMATIC VISION
We asked Kevin what design features he would like to see in a cinema room. His vision: “Wallpaper, everywhere”. From there, we explored custom wall treatments with bespoke, acoustically transparent fabrics, and even speaker covers disguised as unique works of art. What’s your vision?
HOME CINEMA REDEFINED
Media walls are the must-have interior design feature for the modern, versatile take on home cinema, turning everyday rooms into cosy, cinema-style spaces for family moments and movie nights. Our Grand Designs Live ’25 collaboration with luxury carpenters Christopher Leslie Bespoke brings it all together: handcrafted design, immersive Meridian Audio, and the option to add the sleek New Forest 1600 electric fire from Stoke Flame for the hottest finishing touch. Style, sound, and atmosphere, wrapped into one beautiful piece of furniture.
LIVE TALKS
The Butler Harwell team joined property and renovation broadcasters Kunle Barker and Max McMurdo on stage in a series of Live Talks offering professional advice on sustainable living, climate control, lighting design, cinema room design and technology integration. As the Lifestyle Technology Concierge partner for Grand Designs Live, we represented CEDIA, the governing body for the technology industry in a panel discussion with CIOB and RIBA on ‘Developing the Brief’, and recruited our own panel of industry experts to deep-dive into the CEDIA CPD for RIBA and BIID professionals.
